I love writing! I write about what's going on with my husband and I, daily life nannying, and different photography sessions I have! From family photography to couples photography to kids photography, I love documenting it all.

Liza + Ian

This couple is too cute! Liza contacted me about wanting to surprise her husband, Ian, with a photo session celebrating 20 years of marriage. They currently live in Tennessee but were celebrating their anniversary with a trip to Seattle. I actually got to photograph them on their anniversary!

I shared with them how I have now been married a year and that we are expecting. It was encouraging to talk with them about marriage and the transition to parenthood. Liza homeschools all their kids and Ian works as a commercial pilot. They are such lovely people, I’m thankful that photography allows me time to meet people and hear their stories. Being a photographer is more than the photos I deliver, it’s about being intentional with people, connecting with them and capturing who they are. I love that now they can look back on these photos and remember this moment celebrating 20 years of marital bliss.

Liza even commented on how they’ve been married for 20 years but still act like newlyweds. These are the couples I treasure time with; seeing their love for each other clearly displayed. Twenty years from now I still want Trevor and I to look at each other with crinkly smiles and joyful eyes.

In preparing for their trip to Seattle, Liza was trying to keep the photography session a secret, but still get Ian to pack something nice to wear. She told him two pick between two outfits, which threw Ian off, because he is pilot and packs a suitcase all the time. I caught this moment of them laughing as they shared this story of Liza trying to be subtle, but Ian being very confused.

I love that photography is relational and artistic. It gives me the opportunity to leave them with images to remember this memory!
